Georgetown
Georgetown just never gets old! How stunning are these two? Fun fact - we did Iv's identical twin brother's wedding last year! Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday weekend :)
Maternity Session
It seems like maternity session are becoming more and more popular with Compass Studios and we’re not complaining! It’s such a special time in your life to capture. This session was taken on the Stone Bridge Trail in Centreville and it offers so many beautiful backdrops for all types of shoots. Loving this slightly cooler weather, too!
Moroccan Wedding
So glad the rain ended after Friday's wedding ceremony so that we could head outside to capture this beautiful couple on the water! We've captured dozens of various wedding customs but this Moroccan reception was a first for us and it was such a treat.
6 Months Old
Missed the newborn session timeframe? Doesn’t matter! How sweet is baby Adam, the 6-month old olive-skinned model baby? LOVED this session as Jamie, Adam’s mama, is a very close childhood friend of mine.
Golf Course Wedding
Congratulations to Shelby & Ross….ok, and their sweet dog, Kate!! And who knew that a golf course wedding could offer so many magical backdrops?

Loved, loved this sweet and goofy 18 month old and just capturing her in every day moments with her parents.
Meadowlark..Again!
We aren’t complaining being back at these beautiful botanical gardens in the same week! Laura and Kyle’s engagement session was super fun..the ominous clouds cooled things down a bit and we just beat the rain by the time we finished up. Fun fact: these two found us at a bridal show! It’s nice to know our marketing efforts paid off ;)
Meadowlark Botanical Gardens
We’ve had a few weeks off from weddings, and Randy and Megan’s wedding was a great way to get back into it. We hadn’t yet been to Meadowlark and it lived up to expectations. Despite the heat and lack of rain, their gardens were on point! And Megan and Randy’s wedding felt so special every hour of the day - from handwritten vows, to a choreographed first dance, to a packed dance floor..we are grateful for such a fun day!
Morven Park
We have wanted to do a portrait session at Morven Park for a long time but haven’t gotten around to it because permits are a little pricey! We can see why though - this beautiful Leesburg park offered a huge variety of locations around the grounds. We are looking forward to doing more sessions there and doing Caroline and Chris’s wedding next May <3
Danish Wedding at Bluemont Vineyard
Congratulations Patrick and Sofie!! Such a fun day with, yet again, some truly amazing wedding traditions that Ryan and I are so lucky to witness on a weekly basis (this one being Danish!).
Ida Lee Park Maternity Session
This maternity session was gifted to Kiersten and CJ by their friend, Christine, a past bride of ours! She reached out to see if we offered sessions as gifts and YES we do! We got some really amazing photos. Kiersten will have her shower next month and their baby girl is due in September.

Union Mills Homestead - Intimate, Rustic Wedding
And now, moving on to wedding number 3 of the weekend, we have the BEAUTIFUL Melia & Ryan!! Cannot get over their golden hour photos 😍Union Mills Homestead was a stunning historical park with countless backdrops to offer. These two really put the cherry on top of our busy weekend.
Rita & Ryan <3
We had quite the busy wedding weekend but we poured our heart and soul into every wedding! Here are some favorites from Saturday. Rita & Ryan are the sweetest couple. We met them for their engagement session at Harper's Ferry last year and we knew their wedding would be amazing. Rita's parents got married at this same country club 29 years ago, too!! We had fun recreating some pictures.
District Winery Wedding
We LOVED finally photographing at District Winery in DC, a stunning waterfront venue off the Anacostia River. Aida & Bryan’s wedding was full of so many amazing traditions that we feel lucky to have witnessed - including Ethiopian and Jewish customs!
Indian-Polish Wedding
We absolutely loved witnessing countless beautiful customs at this wedding last Saturday at Rose Hill Manor is Leesburg! It was a warm, beautiful day and the guests never left the dance floor the entire night.

Epic Sunset Engagement
When Gracie reached out to us about doing photography and videography for her wedding we were so excited. Gracie is a professional photographer herself (Gracie Withers Photography) and it is SO flattering any time a fellow professional in the industry expresses interest in working with us. We met up with Gracie and Dan a few months ago and loved how we clicked. We will be photographing/filming their wedding next May! Last week we went out to Bears Den in Bluemont VA for their engagement session. We had no idea what to expect in terms of sunset and whether or not there would even be one. Well, there definitely WAS a sunset. We had such a great time with them, trying out fun new poses, climbing rocks, and chatting. Classic, Elegant Wedding at the Four Seasons
Still in bliss from Saturday's wedding at the Four Seasons in Georgetown! Ali and Nemanja threw a perfectly elegant, classic, and intimate wedding with their closest loved ones. Thankfully we were able to find windows of time without rain, too. We had a great time capturing the day. Wow what a gorgeous couple!
