Maternity sessions - whether you already have a kid yet or not, are very special to capture. It was great seeing two old friends last week and helping them remember this unique phase of life!
Baby Blair
From our initial meeting, to their engagement session, to wedding, to maternity session, to now newborn session, we’ve gotten to know Kaitlyn and Michael well, and they are two awesome people! It was so great to see their beautiful home and capture photos of them and their brand new precious girl, Blair.
Blending of Two Cultures
Friday's wedding sure was hot, but it was ironically the most refreshing change of pace. What a beautiful blend of two cultures. From an epic live Zaffa band, to live mariachi, an antique car, cute pups, the most precious baby boy, we could go on and on. It's been a while since we've seen people have this much fun at a reception. Cheers, Erica & Daniel!
Raspberry Plain Wedding
Back at Raspberry Plain! Although this venue has one of the best rain plans of any venue, Kendall and Rob had sunny, 70 degree weather so the majority of the day was enjoyed outside. Kendall was a dream to work with because she’s worked in front of a camera before, so bridal portraits were one of our favorite parts. Congratulations to this very sweet couple.
Spring Wedding at Airlie Gardens
Some highlights from last weekend’s beautiful day at Airlie in Warrenton. From the Spanish Steps, to bridges, to ponds, to secret gardens, Airlie is a photographer’s dream. Luckily we were able to squeeze in all the photos for Katie and Brad before some torrential storms during dinner! It was such a great day, and we are so happy for them. We’re looking forward to returning to Airlie next weekend for another wedding.
Glamorous Wedding at The Wharf
Wow, what an amazing day! It’s always so fun to head into the city and do an urban wedding on the water. Rose and Louis were so great to work with, and luckily a rainy forecast turned into a warm, gloomy day outside. We were blown away with their details and choice of decor and how the vendor team put it all together. Just look at their twinkly reception space!
Sunshine and Rainbows
Katie & Mark booked us 18 months out and we thought the day would never come, but here we are. From sunshine to a beautiful rainbow to happy tears, we feel special to have captured all the moments on Saturday.
Sunset Maternity Session
So, so great to see our wedding clients again as they anticipate their baby girl in June! Ida Lee is one of our favorite spots, the spacious grounds have so much to offer. The evening provided a beautifully diffused sunset - just the right amount of shade and sun to create a glowy vibe for all the photos.
"Industrial Chic" Alexandria Wedding
Allister & Kavi's wedding took place in a lucky window of time on Saturday - right after torrential morning rain and right before damaging, severe wind at night.
From walking around Old Town Alexandria to celebrating at their groovy "industrial-chic" venue (The Garden, Alexandria), it was a wonderful day. We can't wait to start editing their full gallery and video.
Back to Back Cherry Blossom Sessions
Due to Friday and Saturday rain, I think the whole world ventured out on Sunday to see the beautiful cherry blossoms blooming all around the area. The weather was perfect for it. We chose Meadowlark Gardens instead of DC due to crowds but boy, I’m not even sure it was less crowded at Meadowlark! But we had a fantastic time and it was so beautiful all around the grounds with flowers in bloom around every corner. Here are some favorite photos from a couple sessions held on Sunday.
Winter Wedding at Lansdowne Resort
Alycia & Luke had a beautiful, sunny, mild February wedding this past weekend at Lansdowne! Our team had a great time capturing all the details of their day. It was hard to leave at the end of the night because their dance floor was incredibly epic.
Interior Designer
We had the pleasure of photographing for interior designer, Just Call Crystal, the other week, doing both interior photos of her beautiful projects as well as some fresh branding headshots for her social media. Super fun!
Winter Wedding
Our 2023 wedding season has started early and at full force! We have regular weddings happening in January and February - a little earlier than normal. Matt and Elena helped us kick off the New Year in such a great way. Their day was a typical chilly January day, so we loved utilizing the newly constructed greenhouse at Meadowlark for some shots to get a break from the cold. Probably our favorite part of their day was that the ceremony music was all The Lord of the Rings soundtrack. Matt and Elena carefully selected each song depending on who was walking down the aisle, and it was a magical moment. Congratulations to these two, we hope they are enjoying sunny Hawaii on their honeymoon!
Reston Lakes
The Reston lakes hold a special place in our hearts - so I was excited to hear that they were also very special to this couple! When clients choose locations that are sentimental, it always makes for great photos. We also got there just before the Fall colors disappeared!
Classic DC Wedding
Erin and Matt’s wedding was so perfectly “DC”. Classic, timeless colors, a string quartet, and a first look on a quiet level of the National Portrait Gallery. Their getting-ready, ceremony, and reception took place at the beautiful Kimpton Monaco Hotel. We had above-average temperatures for a November wedding which made walking around the city quite pleasant. One of our favorite parts of the day was the father-daughter coordinated dance! Congratulations to these newlyweds!
Sky Meadows Engagment
Ali & Frankie suggested Sky Meadows State Park as their location and I approved! It’s a fantastic spot. Their session took place during peak foliage and even though very intense clouds covered the sky for our session, their bright personalities made for such a fun shoot together.
Fall Wedding at Marriott Ranch
Marriott Ranch is THE best. Rolling mountains, history, and such a great vibe all around. We loved being a part of Jen and Dustin’s day this weekend. There wasn’t a cloud in the sky, and the Fall foliage was just starting to appear. Jen is another client of ours who requested a “warmer” edit in her photos and it really matches her color-scheme perfectly!
Kalero Vineyard Wedding
We have been nonstop with weddings lately..but that’s Fall for you! Getting married in Virginia in the Fall is unbeatable. Here are some highlights from Rachel and Charles’s wedding from this past Friday. It was a super fun day and don’t you love her cape veil??
Fall Wedding at Bluemont Vineyard
Bluemont Vineyard is one of our favorites… add perfect Fall weather + the cutest couple on top of it and you have a perfect day. Yesterday was full of laughs, donuts, wine, dancing, and happy tears and we are so incredibly happy for Rachel and Blake. We adore these two!
New Editing Style, Who Dis
When Angela (bride) hired us last year, she asked if we could edit her wedding photos to be warm/golden/vintage and we said: “absolutely!” Angela and Briar had their beautiful wedding at Murray Hill (shout out to the best venue) last weekend and their sneak peek photos are now ready. What do we think? I’m thinking of adding this warm editing style as an option to all clients! Inquire if you are a current bride with us and want to chat options.
