Oatlands Engagment Session
Many beautiful properties and locations charge for entry / taking photos on their grounds, but for a good reason. Sometimes it’s worth spending a little extra to have your dream location, and Oatlands is it for some clients. It’s one of those locations that offers such a vast amount of beauty and backdrops. I was stopping this couple at every corner to take more photos!
In front of the Camera!!
While creating a branding video for Sarah Schmidt Photography at her beautiful 6-acre farm, we had her do some family photos for us! It’s been over 5 years since we had any professional photos of us, so it was great to be in front of the camera. Trying to get a toddler to pose whatsoever is impossible, but candid photos have always been our thing anyways. Can’t wait to create Sarah’s branding video!
Shadow Creek Fall Wedding
When we think of this weekend’s weddings we think “vibrant”. From the peak foliage, to so many emotions, tearful moments, heartfelt speeches, and fun dancing with a live band. Congratulations to Sarah and Andrew, and thanks for making our weekend so special!
Vibrant Fall Wedding
Fall colors make us so happy! What a beautiful, vibrant weekend full of weddings. We love our job, and loved working again at Fleetwood Farm Winery. This day was full of lots of happy tears, WIND, laughter, and an epic reception dance floor. Congratulations to these two!
In-Home Pregnancy Announcement
Shevani and Wayne are some regular clients of ours, and we feel like we know them so well since we captured their engagement party as well as their multi-event wedding weekend.
Shevani reached out and wanted to come full circle with us doing their pregnancy photos!
This session was such a fresh change of pace..it felt so natural to take photos at their beautiful, bright home. They put music on, and just had a great taking photos to share this happy news with the world.
Tropical Rainstorm at your Wedding? Not a Problem.
It really didn’t matter that there was NO break in the rain on Krystyna & Ondrej’s wedding day. LOOK at their vibrant images! They had such great attitudes and were adventurous enough to go out while it was raining in order to capture some great shots with us - both day and night. And look what they did for their first dance - sparklers! It was romantic and perfect.
Solo Maternity Session
Jennie showed up with herself alone and I had a full session working with JUST her and it was amazing! I never get to spend this much time with one person, and even though it was still only a 30 minute session, she received 75 stunning images of herself and the little one in her belly. Here are a few favorites.
Corgi Engagment
We are more of big dog people, but corgis are an exception! They are too quirky and cute. Had a great time meeting these two last week, and we wrapped up just as the rain hit!
Fall Wedding at Meadowlark
What a day on Saturday!! We work at Meadowlark a lot, but every wedding and every couple there is so unique and it keeps our job fun every time! Especially when the bride gets ready off-site at her mother’s picture-perfect home. We also loved that the Fall colors are slowly making a subtle appearance outside.
Glow-y Engagement Session
We can’t get over this perfect lighting and weather from Gena and Trey’s session this week. All you really need is good lighting and the location doesn’t matter. Eleanor Lawrence Park in Chantilly is simple and small, but by utilizing the areas that provide photo-perfect lighting and you have everything you need. Ryan and Charlie even tagged along and it was a great time. Charlie thoroughly enjoyed seeing them spray the champagne at the end. We are excited for their wedding next Spring!
Baby Nora
Judy and Scott have that type of home that’s just perfect for photography. They apologized for the space when I walked in but I assured them that all you really need is one good bright room, and they absolutely had that. The glowing light illuminated their family in such beautiful way. Welcome, little Nora!
Epic 3-Day Wedding Weekend
Kara & Kamran had an epic 3-day wedding weekend, with a Thursday ceremony, Friday rehearsal dinner party, and Saturday wedding. The joy on their faces is so apparent in every photo.
Fall Season
Our team kicked off Fall with 2 events and 4 weddings! It was a weekend full of heat, rain, rainbows, and so much love. First off from Friday we are sharing Amanda & Will’s magical day at Meadowlark Gardens!
Sunrise Maternity
Riverbend Park is incredibly peaceful in the mornings..it’s been Ryan’s go-to wildlife spot for quite some time and it makes for a beautiful portrait location as well. These two legally got married here so it was a special spot to them as well!
Sunrise + Sunset Maternity Sessions
Maternity sessions - whether you already have a kid yet or not, are very special to capture. It was great seeing two old friends last week and helping them remember this unique phase of life!
Baby Blair
From our initial meeting, to their engagement session, to wedding, to maternity session, to now newborn session, we’ve gotten to know Kaitlyn and Michael well, and they are two awesome people! It was so great to see their beautiful home and capture photos of them and their brand new precious girl, Blair.
Blending of Two Cultures
Friday's wedding sure was hot, but it was ironically the most refreshing change of pace. What a beautiful blend of two cultures. From an epic live Zaffa band, to live mariachi, an antique car, cute pups, the most precious baby boy, we could go on and on. It's been a while since we've seen people have this much fun at a reception. Cheers, Erica & Daniel!
Raspberry Plain Wedding
Back at Raspberry Plain! Although this venue has one of the best rain plans of any venue, Kendall and Rob had sunny, 70 degree weather so the majority of the day was enjoyed outside. Kendall was a dream to work with because she’s worked in front of a camera before, so bridal portraits were one of our favorite parts. Congratulations to this very sweet couple.
Spring Wedding at Airlie Gardens
Some highlights from last weekend’s beautiful day at Airlie in Warrenton. From the Spanish Steps, to bridges, to ponds, to secret gardens, Airlie is a photographer’s dream. Luckily we were able to squeeze in all the photos for Katie and Brad before some torrential storms during dinner! It was such a great day, and we are so happy for them. We’re looking forward to returning to Airlie next weekend for another wedding.
